Self Drafted Liberty Strawberry Thief Dress

I love this fabric and the pattern.

I really love Liberty fabric so I have countless Liberty fabrics! I don't want to die till I sew them all! I think Liberty is easy to wash and dry quickly. I often take these clothes made of Liberty for trips.

Sewing the sleeve into the bodice is easy, only attach the sleeves to front and back bodice. This dress is really good in summer because It's very airy for the sleeves. This print is Strawberry Thief; it was designed by William morris in 1883. Especially Strawberry Thief is one of my most favourite patterns. I usually buy Libery fabric every season. However, I like classic liberty better than new.

Instructions, click the image: you can see original size.
If you like it, please try it! Drawing this pattern is very easy. It was all drawn using straight lines.

It's hot and humid during summer in Japan. I'm so happy that I made it. I will make the dress next year. See you!
Fabric:  45"  2 7/8.

  5. This pattern caught my eye in the Pattern review article about you Eli-san. It's very unique and feminine, I love the sleeves and furly skirt. I am also an (Australian) size 10 and 7"4 so I think the pattern will fit me. The pattern seems easy to follow but I just have a couple of questions: How many metres of fabric should I buy (45" width)? With the waist ribbon, does it tie into a bow at the back? Will 2.5cm seam allowance be ok? I usually sew Simplicity patterns so I am used to lots of instructions hehe
    Thanks for sharing your pattern!

    1. Hello, Mon. Thank you for visiting my blog! I am glad that you would sew the dress.
This pattern doesn't include seam allowance, it's 2.5cm is ok.
By the way, I usually choose a size 8 in Simplicity. I made the dress with cotton: 45" width 2 7/8. But I am shorter than you(I am only five four), I recommend that you buy 3 1/8.
This waist ribbon is removable. I am tying a waist ribbon around my waist at the back in these photos. You can wear it without the waist ribbon.
If you have any questions, please ask me again :)

    2. Thanks Eli-san! Sorry I meant 5"4, I am not a giant! hehe
I am normally a 10 in Simplicity so I will add another 1cm to the side seams I think and buy 3 metres of fabric :-)

Hi Eli! I adore this dress and would love to make it myself. Is it possible to get the pattern in a readable size? I have tried clicking it several times but the pattern does not enlarge. Many thanks.
